RENT IN THE PALAIS ROYAL DISTRICT

Although this palace was only briefly the home of royalty, it is still magnificent by most standards. Located in the very heart of central Paris, in the 1st arrondissement, from here it’s mere steps to the Seine, the Louvre, and Paris’ main attractions.

Although many visitors to Paris miss it, behind the Palais Royal is a long garden, encircled by shops, art galleries and restaurants. Look for the doorways that take you there. It’s one of Paris’ many hidden places that delight visitors to this magical place.
The history of the Palais Royal is filled with interesting developments. Originally a private theatre in the residence of Cardinal Richelieu, the theatre was the first in France built in a large scale, with mobile scenery. After his death, Richelieu’s will left it to the royal family, and it became royal property.
Today it is a government building, home to the Constitutional Council, the Ministry of Culture and the Conseil d'État. The older edifices of the Bibliothèque Nationale can be found at back. This national library houses more than 6 million books, documents, prints and maps.
Construction of the Palais was begun in 1624, designed by architect Jacques Lemercier. Known first as the “Cardinal’s Palace,” it became many royal residences, housing Cardinal Mazarin, the Queen-Mother Anne of Austria, and later Louis XIV as a boy. You may also feel your apartment rentals in Paris is like a slice of royalty, or at the very least a life of fun and luxury near this beautiful part of Paris.
The uprising which led to the fall of the Bastille began in the gardens of the Palais. On July 12, 1789, young agitator Camille Desmoulins leapt on a café table and took two pistols from under his coat, declaring that he would not be taken alive. “To arms!”, he cried amid the embraces of the crowd, his cry echoing. The Bastille was taken only 48 hours later.

From the late 18th century to 1837 the Palais Royal was the center of Parisian social and political intrigue, and also the site of many famous cafés. (The historic restaurant "Le Grand Vefour" still stands here, and you may consider a walk there from your Paris 1st arrondissement rent, and apartment rental around Palais Royal in Paris).
Later it became the Paris seat of the dukes of Orleans, a branch of the ruling House of Bourbon. During the French Revolution, the gardens were opened to the public and areas built for upscale shopping. In fact, the knife used to murder Jean Marat was purchased in this very area. It remained a center of Paris until it was looted during the Revolution of 1848.
Under the Second Empire the Palais-Royal was home to a branch of the Bonaparte family, including Prince Napoleon, Napoleon III's cousin.
The light and lively Style Régence, that presaged the future rococo, was for a time in evidence here. The Regent's more intimate Petits Appartements, and his gallery painted with Virgilian subjects by Coypel, were all demolished in 1784, for the installation of the Théâtre-Français, now the Comédie- Française.
A separate pavilion standing along rue Richelieu, to the west of the Palais-Royal, is the Palais Brion, which been purchased by Louis XIV from the heirs of Cardinal Richelieu. Under the care of official court historian André Félibien, the royal collection of antiquities was installed at the Palais Brion in 1673.
During the minority of Louis XV, the regent of France Philip II, Duke of Orléans, ruled from the Palais-Royal. The Orléans did not occupy the northeast wing, where Anne of Austria had her apartments, but the Palais Brion, where the future Regent when duc de Chartres commissioned the decor of the Grand Appartement. (And as for yourself, you may wish to look for an apartment rentals in Paris that puts you here as if you were a resident.) The Regent's great-grandson, Louis Philip II, Duke of Orléans, who would become known as "Philippe-Egalité" during the more radical phase of the Revolution, opened the gardens of the Palais-Royal to all Parisians and employed the neoclassical architect Victor Louis to rebuild the structures around the palace gardens. Previously these had simply been the backs of houses. He also enclosed the gardens with regular colonnades lined with nice shops. Along the galeries ladies of the night lingered, and gambling casinos were lodged in second-floor quarters.

A theatre could be found at each end of the galleries; the larger one has been the seat of the Comédie-Française, the state theatre company, since Napoleon's reign. Under Louis XIV, the theater hosted plays by Molière, from 1660 to Molière's death in 1673, followed by the Opera under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Lully.
Controversy erupted here in 1980 (as so often in France, over a point of style), when striped columns were added. The look was said to be in poor taste. However, since then many neighboring establishments have adopted the striped columns, creating a type of trademark look for the area.
In Paris, history has a way of staying alive in the present, in the form of traditions and preservations, as you will se from one of the many available Paris vacation apartments rent. In the late 1700s a noon cannon was set up by a philosophical amateur, set on the prime meridian of Paris. The midday sun, angling through a lens, lit the cannon's fuse. This cannon is still fired at the Palais-Royal each noon, so listen for it, and feel yourself a part of history.

JEAN LEON GEROME

MUSEE D'ORSAY - From 18th October to 23rd January 2011
This pupil of Paul Delaroche, both a painter and a sculptor, made a name for himself at the Salon of 1846 with the painting "the coke fight". Gerome drew his inspiration from history, from classical Antiquity, but also from his travels in Italy, Turkey or on the banks of the Danube. He met with great success in the United States where the art dealer Adolphe Goupil made a name for him through photographic reproductions. This retrospective presents a body of work that pays great attention to detail and where his genius in the setting the scene is undeniable.

LOUISE BOURGEOIS

MAISON DE BALZAC - from 3rd of November 2010 to 6th February 2011

After the spectacular retrospective that toured London, New York and Paris, it was Louis Bourgeois 'wish to present this exhibition on Eugenie Grandet in the privacy of the Maison de Balzac. Louise Bourgeois sees Eugenie Grandet as a victim of her obedience to her father. This complex character also provides a means for the artist, in the evening of her life, to pay tribute to her mother, a tapestry-maker, by using embroidery and sewing. The works on display evoke passing time, useless occupations, withering and solitude.

What about the Latin Quarter Area

When you're ready for an adventure in history and fun, come stay in Paris' Latin Quarter on the Left Bank! Read below to find out more about what it means to stay in this vibrant, intellectual, bistro-filled area.
Bustling and exciting, Paris' Latin Quarter is alive with bistros and history. It occupies part of the 5th and 6th arrondissements, from the breathtaking gardens of Luxembourg to the beautiful Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
The Latin Quarter is named after the Latin language, spoken by the many scholars who lived here in the Middle Ages. Although Latin no longer spoken in its streets (not frequently, anyway), a number of higher education establishments are still housed here, such as the École Normale Supérieure, the Beaux Arts, Sorbonne, Jussieu University, École des Mines de Paris, and more. As a result, it is a vibrant student district, as well as home to many writers, academics, and journalists. Find apartment rentals in Paris that take you to the center of the fun! Look our list of apartment rental in the Latin quarter, Paris.

The Hotel de Cluny (the National Museum of the Middle Ages) is located here, sure to be a hit with lovers of antiquity. The Museum of Natural History is also here. And don't forget to see to the breathtaking Pantheon. This church was originally built in dedication to St. Genevieve, and is now the burial place of such luminaries as Emile Zola and Victor Hugo.
The beautiful Luxembourg Gardens is one of Paris' most beautiful parks, also the largest public park in the city. The French Senate is housed in Luxembourg Palace. Enjoy some music over a glass of wine. The gardens include a large fenced-in playground, a puppet theatre, a merry-go-round and occasional pony rides. Free musical performances are presented in a gazebo on the grounds with seating under the trees. In June, come see the open-air opera (www.operaenpleinair.com).
For an intellectual outing, head to the Sainte-Geneviève Library (two million volumes are housed here). Or visit the many area bookshops, such as Shakespeare & Co., specializing in used, rare and antique books: poetry, art, Surrealism and much more. You will find many things are within walking distance of your Paris vacation apartments for rent in the Latin Quarter.
The eastern end of the Latin Quarter is only a footfall away from the Seine, the world-famous Notre Dame and the dual Île de la Cité and the Île Saint-Louis, the islands in the center of Paris. A trip to the Right Bank is as easy as crossing the bridge over the Seine. Your Paris 5th arrondisement apartments rental Quartier Latin, get you there!
For those in need of a little relaxation, many films in the local theatres play with the original English soundtrack, and the Cinema of the Pantheon is great for lovers of art. The theatre of Odéon in the nearby 7th district, home of early French comedy, is also worth a visit.
When evening falls and you decide to take a stroll from your apartment rentals in Paris, you'll find bistros on every corner for every taste and budget. Stroll along the Seine or the Boulevard Saint Germain. There are many excellent pubs on the rue Mouffetard.

If you love amateur jazz, you must visit the Caveau de la Huchette (www.caveaudelahuchette.fr). The Paradis Latin Cabaret has an excellent revue and variety show.

What about Nation area?

Visitors in search of adventure or a relaxing place for themselves or their families will want to consider apartment rentals in Paris near the Place de la Nation, on the Right Bank. The variety of the 12th and 13th make many options possible.

The 12th and the 13th have much to offer. Located in the central Paris, close to all the major attractions, they are nonetheless a bit removed from the somewhat more hectic pace of areas that sit a bit closer to the Seine.

Roughly speaking, these two arrondissements may be said to overlap at the eastern mirror of the Etoile, the Place de la Nation. Ten avenues meet at Place de la Nation, at a statue of France incarnate, Marianne. (Her image was once on every one-franc piece, but you will find Marianne in evidence throughout the city of Paris.)

The Place de la Nation was originally called “Throne Square” (Place de Trône), a name given in 1660 when a throne was placed there to welcome Marie Therèse and Louis XIV. During the Revolution, the square was pointedly redubbed “Square of the Throne Reversal” (roughly translated, of course), or “Place du Trône-Renversé” in French. In an even more grim reminder of history, the guillotine was placed here for a time. In happier times, the square was rename Place de la Nation on the first anniversary of the Republic, July 14, 1880. A Paris apartments rental 12th district put you near this centralized point for a quick day-trip almost anywhere in Paris.

Whether you’re in search of a long term apartment rentals Paris or a place to call your own for yourself and your family, the 11th and 12th that intersect here are definitely worth considering. You might say a large number of people have already discovered the charms of this affordable, fun, community-centered area. The 11th is the most populous urban area not only within Paris, with in Europe.

The 12th, on the other hand, is Paris’ largest area in terms of sheer geographical spread.

It would enjoy that status even without the impressive size of the Bois de Vincennes, with nearly 2,500 acres of green space, and which actually makes the district twice as large as it would be. The large metro and train station Gare de Lyon is here.

Overall, the 12th may be said to offer a mix of rural, countrylike charm as well as culture. The Opéra Bastille (also quite popular for ballet) is here, so if you’re coming for a short trip and love all things cultural, you may wish to see what’s happening here and get your tickets in advance. In yet another nod to a more serene life, the Bercy Village in the 12th has the spirit of French rural markets for you to enjoy.

As has been said, the 11th has a dual personality, for those in search of fun night excursions, restaurants and cafés both night and day, and those in search of a relaxing family environments.

Large markets and children’s parks can be found along the lovely, tree-lined Boulevard Richard Lenoir. The 12th’s Place de la République and Place de la Bastille have numerous galleries, restaurants and boutiques, as well as chic cafés, which cab also be found along Renoir.

Of course, centered around the rue du Faubourg St Antoine is one of the 11th’s bustling nightlife scenes, with gentrified clubs and Latin jazz long into the night. And the second nightlife area is near the rue Oberkampf, which has a slightly more traditionally Parisian feel: more bohemian and less polished, with a more grittier, quirkier and urban appeal.

If you like circuses or simply have a taste for the fanciful and surreal, be sure to stroll by the Cirque d'hiver , or Winter Circus, a fanciful-looking venue built in 1852 that holds everything from actual circus and carnival acts to fashion shows.

Afterward, the Clown Bar across the street serves classic French fare in a fun Carnival-themed environment, as a reasonable rate.

An apartment rental in Nation quarter, 75011, Paris should “speak” to you. Those in search of eclectic fun, or who want to stay in a true Parisian neighborhood, should take a look and see what’s available in the 11th and 12th, or near the Place de la Nation.

You’ll find a place to call your own in one of the world’s most beautiful, exciting and varied cities.

MY KEYS TO PARIS TESTIMONIAL

APARTMENT RENTED : Paris two bedrooms apartment at Grenier-Saint-Lazare

APRIL 2010 - We had a very enjoyable stay in this apartment. It was extremely comfortable for our family of four, including our two teenage children. The area was very safe, and we were thrilled to have the supermarkets next door and across the road. We also enjoyed all the local cafes and restaurants and the availability of the bus stop and metro(right outside the front). We were surprised at how quiet the apartment was - no street noise at all, and very little sign or noise from residents in the building. Geraldine, our landlady, was extremely helpful and always available by phone to answer any questions we had. We are looking forward to our next trip to Paris and will definitely stay here again. A trip to Paris is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. and we hope you'll have the time of your life, no matter where you choose to stay.

Your two bedroom apartment rentals in Paris are just a few short clicks away. An apartment with two bedrooms adds convenience to the ever-popular studio and represents a more economical option over a multi-bedroom apartment.

Imagine how much fun you and your family or friends will have being together in one of the world's most beautiful cities, sharing breakfast and coffee in the morning, and preparing meals using the wonderful ingredients available from the many local markets.
You'll also save money by preparing many meals at home, freeing up funds for excursions to Disneyland Paris or shopping sprees in fashionable districts such as the 8th near the Champs Elysées.
The Mouffetard market near the Latin Quarter is a great place to find the freshest produce, seafood and other items. The market takes place each day, and you'll have a lot of fun walking in the sunshine, picking out items for the evening's feast.
When you're in the mood to go all-out, there's a floor-wide gourmet food section in the Galeries Lafayette department store. And then, of course, there's Fauchon, the "millionaire's food store" located in the Place de la Madeleine between the Galeries Lafayette and the Champs Elysées. There's a delicatessen here, and you'll find gifts that are decidedly in a non-millionaire's price range. But the sky's certainly the limit if you're in the mood to indulge.

Of course, you may wish to allocate the money you save to theatre and the arts. How about the Pompidou Center in the Beaubourg, for one of the world's most comprehensive selections of modern art? The Louvre is always a wonderful choice. And of course, there's the Picasso museum and countless others to choose from.
Lovers of performing arts may wish to see an opera in either of the two opera houses. Surprisingly, the new opera house in the Bastille area is the more popular venue for ballet, and that may well be an evening of cultural fun that will prove memorable for years to come.

Your Paris two bedroom rental means a bit of togetherness for your party, even if you choose to indulge your separate fancies in the course of your stay. They say the best things in life are shared. And although times of quiet reflection alone are prized by many, there's no question that being such an exciting city together adds a new dimension of fun to the trip. Whether you're looking for two bedroom short term apartment rentals in Paris or something more long-term, a bigger apartment  than a two bedroom rental means more people to share in the good times and more space to go around.
The first step is often determining which part of town "suits" your party best. There are many charming areas in central Paris, from the mystical energy of the Montmartre to the glamour of areas such as the 16th (Paris' most opulent and affluent neighborhood) to the 8th (home of the Champs Elysées and Arc de Triomphe), and the 5th (the St. Germain, Paris' glittering literary zone).
For you, the ideal two bedroom apartment in Paris may be equal parts glamour and bohemian. (Thus the French phrase, "bo-bo," to describe a mix of bohemian and bourgeois elements.) The ultra-chic Marais area, teeming with restaurants, cafés, bars, and bistros, certainly qualifies. But then, so do areas such as the Latin Quarter, with its jazz clubs and cafés, or even the Montparnasse, which is a tamer, more affluent version of the artistic Montmartre to the north.

For those coming to the City of Lights for the first time, the best way to research the various neighborhoods of Paris is often with the assistance of the many guidebooks available at your local bookstore. In the Internet age, there are various resources that can be utilized that give an overview of Paris' arrondissements and the unique qualities of each. You'll discover each district has a personality all its own.

Of course, we invite you to search this very site for useful information on the many neighborhoods, monuments and other attractions near the various Paris two  bedroom apartments available here. And as always, we welcome your questions and feedback. Many qualities vary greatly within a single arrondissement, and asking questions of those who know the areas well is a great way to find answers to specific questions you may have.

One thing's for certain: A trip to Paris is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we hope you'll have the time of your life, no matter where you choose to stay.

Why not renting a one bedroom apartment for you next trip to Paris

Whether you’re looking for a one bedroom short-term rental or for a one bedroom long term apartment rentals, you’ll find there are a dizzying amount of choices, from which neighborhood you’d like to live in to a range of options regarding the apartment itself.

How much natural light does it get? Does it face a street that quiet or noisy? Is the décor modern, traditional, or eclectic? Do you want to live in a neighborhood with a strong community spirit, or where the spirits run high?
Those in search of a lively nightlife can choose the dual nightlife meccas of the 11th, and would also do well to consider the Marais, one of Paris’ most exciting areas. The sheer number of cafés, pubs and restaurants here may well boggle the mind. Students from the nearby schools of the Latin Quarter fill the businesses here to overflowing with the din  of laughter and fun. But culture can be found here in droves, as well. The Pompidou is here, as well as what many consider to be Paris’ most beautiful square, the majestic Place des Vosges. This is also “medieval Paris,” “gay Paris,” and is home to Paris’ largest orthodox Jewish community. Every type of cuisine imaginable can be found here, along with family-friendly attractions.

The Latin Quarter and Saint Germain are located in the 5th and 6th, just across the Seine. These two districts are home to many of Paris’ best-known schools, such as the Sorbonne, and Paris’ literary tradition, which includes “expat” artists such as Hemingway and existential writers such as Sartre. Paris’ publishing houses are here, as well as famous bookstores like Shakespeare & Company. There are countless houses of quiet contemplation along the Left Bank of the Seine, from the glory of the Notre Dame Cathedral to the more modest American Church of Paris, where you’ll find a bulletin board where other Americans post items for sale, club invitations and more.

The Paris apartment rental one bedroom of your dreams may include artistic havens of the 20th century such as the artistic Montmartre in the north of Paris (once home to Dali, Picasso and Van Gogh), or its sister area on the Left Bank, Montparnasse. The Montparnasse is a fun mixture of the boho and the bourgeois (or “bo-bo” as it’s often called in French), combining a more moneyed artistic tradition with green space and long, contemplative walks by lovely cafés.
Speaking of lovely green areas, why not opt for an apartment in Paris along the Boulevard Saint Michel (often simply called the “Boul'Mich”), leading to Paris’ most royal park, the Jardin de Luxembourg? There are puppet shows here, people playing chess under the trees, a statue garden, and of course the Palais de Luxembourg, which houses the French Senate.

Those who want to be in Paris’ central commercial area, and as about as “central” as one can get, may want to opt for a one bedroom rental in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. Here you’ll be literally steps away from the Louvre, Palais Royal, Cartier, Les Halles underground shopping area, and the Rue de Rivoli.
Lover of open-air markets have many choices. The Mouffetard near the Latin Quarter has daily markets, but the Bercy Village Market in the 12th is another wonderful choice. Lovers of gourmet food may wish to live near the “millionaire’s food store,” Fauchon in the Place de Madeleine near the Champs Élysées. Or why not live near the Galeries Lafayette in the Opera district, which has a whole floor devoted to gourmet food?
A one bedroom apartment in the 16th means maximum opulence and luxury, and you may just find a one-bedroom that suits you in or near this incredible area. From the most luxurious to the most modest, there is an incredible range of options to choose from.

No matter where you choose to live in Paris, you’ll love looking. Like Paris itself, the journey is more than the destination itself. Exploring is half the fun. We wish you a fun and rewarding quest, and we’ll see you soon in the City of Lights!

Visit our selection of Paris studio Rental

Your furnished apartment rentals in Paris will be a place to call your own, so for awhile you can relax in the ultimate ease, savoring Paris the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Some tips on finding the perfect Paris studio rental follow.
Think of your very own studio in Paris as a home away from home. Whereas a hotel may well make you feel pressed for time (and quite possibly put pressure on your wallet), a studio rental makes your long or short-term stay in Paris just a little more relaxed.

You can shop at some of the city’s finest shops and open air markets for everything you need to prepare exciting gourmet meals at home. The Rue Mouffetard in the Latin Quarter has a market that’s beloved by many locals as well as visitors. Across the way, the Rue Montorgueil near the Palais Royal in the 2nd district seems to spill over with the many sights, smells and aromas of the trendy food shops and cafés of this vibrant area.
For truly deluxe shopping, look no further than Fauchon, the super-deluxe emporium located in the 8th district. (Similar in stature to Fortnum & Mason in London.) You can indulge almost any culinary dream imaginable here. Of course, there’s also an amazing selection to found in the legendary Galeries Lafayette, located in the 9th district. There’s actually an entire floor here dedicated to nothing but gourmet food.
But feel free to discover your own path. Preparing meals at home means more money to spend on the other wonderful things Paris has to offer, from Disneyland Paris to museums, select restaurant fine dining, gifts, clothes, day trips to Versailles, Seine cruises … the sky’s the limit.
Your furnished studio rental Paris means economical living in a way that actually gives you more money to spend elsewhere. After all, no trip to Paris would be complete without a little shopping. The Champs Elysees is just one of the many places you should explore. There are anchor stores here from some of the world’s best and most luxurious brands.

Of course, shopping also means stores like the Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, and the many charming “one-of-a-kind” boutiques that can be found throughout France’s capital, representing cutting edge fashion, unique gifts, and much more.
Whether your needs encompass a long term or a short term apartment rentals Paris, we know you’ll have a lot of fun exploring your many options. Each neighborhood in Paris has a feel all its own, and although certain districts (such as the 10th, 14th or 15th) may be very well-suited for family living, and others (such as the 5th or 18th) may appeal more to those of artistic bent, the fact is, almost every arrondissement has attractions for any type of person or family.

The 13th has what is called “Paris’ Chinatown,” with a thriving Asian community and also, with a somewhat diametrically opposite feel, the Butte-aux-Cailles. Only assimilated into Paris in the 19th century, the Butte-aux-Cailles has a rather village feel, with a young trendy clientele that gathers in the bars and restaurants here.
The Marais, which spans the 3rd and 4th districts, is often called “gay Paris,” but this very trendy area is also extremely popular with families and the students who come here after their classes in the Latin Quarter across the Seine. The Marais is also home to Paris’ largest Jewish community. As with much of Paris, the Marais has certain focal points, but cannot be reduced to simply one buzzword, or confined in terms of its appeal.
The Saint Germain area on the Left Bank is today one of Paris’ most upscale areas, along with the 16th and the 8th. And yet this was once the stomping ground of gritty artists such as Hemingway and a young Jean Paul Sartre. Its rich literary legacy continues in its stature as the home of French publishing today.
Your very own Paris studio rental, for vacation, business, or a little of both, awaits. With a little research you can find a place that feels right in terms of size, amenities, and locale.
At the end of the day, it will be you coming “home” to place that feels right for you. Although the true excitement of Paris will be the many adventures you’ll have exploring the city, it may be that, in a sense, putting your feet up in a place of your own will count among your sweetest memories.

My Keys to PARIS - Testimonial

Our family of 5 spent a week in this Paris 3 bedroom rental, and the photos do not nearly do justice. It’s much more spacious and attractive than it  appears in the photos, both the upstairs beds are doubles. The style is sort of a fresh  “Ikea Plus” which we  prefer,  especially with kids, to the fake Louis XIV so common in Paris,   and  absolutely pefectly maintained and clean. Everthing, including the wifi and three or four English satellite news channels worked well, and it had nearly every appliance we have at home and a well stocked kitchen.

I have worked as a doctor in Paris and  feel like I know Paris pretty well, and  in my opinion the location is ideal. We enjoyed sending the kids out for fresh bread every morning from the renowned Gerard Mulot bakery a block away. Nearby is the Monoprix supermarket  for the necessities and the incredible street markets on rue de Buci  for  fresh daily specialties. The guys at the Nicolas on Buci  really enjoy talking wine and helping you select. There  is; thankfully, a nice market cart provided with the unit. We enjoyed the restaurant  Le Comptoir across the street with  fantastic traditional bistro fare, but it  is so popular with casual but  stylish Parsians it is difficult to get a reservation.

My wife enjoyed the whole interaction with the various  Buci street market vendors getting cooking suggestions  and ideas for preparation, even though she  does not speak French.  Sure we did the whole Rick Steve’s tourist/museum  thing but on top of that we were able to live, at least for a week, as modern Parisians in this charming apartment. This was for me much more educational and fun for my teen age kids than staying in separate anonymous hotel rooms. The business arrangements with “my keys to Paris” and thereafter in correspondence directly with the owner and the owner’s agent were at every moment prompt and professional. We had a signed contract with the owner and all of the owner’s phone and contact details. You never felt as though you were sending your money away to some mysterious third party. No problems at all with the business transactions.  We  would certainly stay here again!

ISADORA DUNCAN (1877 - 1927)

A LIVING SCULPTURE - MUSEE BOURDELLE - FROM 20th NOVEMBRE TO 14th MARCH 2010

Isadora Duncan, one of pioneers of modern dance, was also one of Bourdelle's muses. After having met her and seen her dance, she became one of his sources of inspiration during the creation of the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. The Musée Bourdelle pays homage to the life and career of this exceptional woman, through paintings, sculptures, drawings and photographs.
