The autumnal event "Résonances au Petit Palais" also draws numerous parallels between literature, heritage and contemporary creations.

MATISSE-RODIN, THE TALE OF ENCOUNTER

MUSEE RODIN - FROM 23 OCTOBER 2009 TO 28 FEBRUARY 2010

This exhibition aims to examine the affinities and influences of these two grands masters. The works of Rodin inspired Matisse in his vision of sculpture and drawing. Though Matisse found their meeting somewhat disappointing and their differences grew more marked over time, the painter never hid his admiration for the sculptor. This exhibition assembles more than a hundred works (sculptures, paintings, drawings, photographs and illustrated books) which piece together this encounter.
