This large retrospective exhibition is devoted to an artist who played a major role in the early decades of the 20th century, and whose work has not been dispayed in Paris for more than twenty-five years. It reveals Giorgio de Chirico in all his complexity. One hundred and fifty paintings and a selection of graphic works retrace his rare journey. His subtle incongruities and dicrepancies fascinated surrealists such as Magritte, ernst Pacabia, and above all, André Breton
