AMERICAN GOLD

MUSÉUM NATIONAL D'HISTOIRE NATURELLE GALERIE DE MINÉRALOGIE ET DE GÉOLOGIE -FROM APRIL TO DECEMBER 2009



The exhibition reveals gold as it appears not only naturally but geologically, archeologically, anthrologically, historically and artistically, all the way to the Stock Exchange. In the 20th century, gold was put to scientist use, notably in satellite solar filters and Airbus windows and within the biomedical industry. Many priceless objects (jewellery, finery, gold bars...) are show, revealing gold in its many different forms.

CITE DE L'ARCHITECTURE ET DU PATRIMOINE PALAIS DE CHAILLOT - NOVEMBER 2009 TO FEBRUARY 2010


Designer, theorist and polemicist, Claude Parent is one of the most important contemporary architects in post-war architecture and town planning. The retrospective held in his honour at la Cité, where his archives are housed, returns to his concepts and theories, their development over time and their interaction with modern architecture. It is also a tribute by one of his disciples, Jean Nouvel, who is reponsible for staging the exhibition.

POLLOCK AND SHAMANISM

PINACOTHEQUE DE PARIS - UNTIL 15 FEBRUARY 2009



From Autumn 2008, for the first time in the capital in twenty six years, the Pinacothèque de Paris presents an exceptional collection of works by the abstract expressionist painter Jackson Pollock, inspired by Amerindian Shamanism. Through this brand new interpretation, a true discovery of the artist's working method, this exhibition also helps to reveal and understand the process of Shamanic spiritual transformation which Pollock made his own.

HUSSEIN CHALAYAN & JONATHAN WOLPAW FROM THE MIND TO CLOTHING

LE LABORATOIRE - OCTOBER 2009 TO JANUARY 2010




The stylist Hussein Chalayan presents a world in which clothing becomes intelligent. The experiment carried out together with Jonathan Wolpaw, a researcher in biomedecine and specialist of the nervous system, consists of creating an interaction between the mind and living material. What if clothes were capable of thought?
