MODEL CHILDREN, CLAUDE RENOIR TO PIERRE ARDITI

MUSEE DE L'ORANGERIE - FROM 25th NOVEMBER 2009 TO 8th MARCH 2010

The Musée de l'Orangerie have come up with an original idea : delve into the family environment of the artists through their offspring. No-one can be better placed than these children, who have watched their famous relatives live and work, and often acted as models for them, to evoke a family atmosphere in which art history has shown little or no interest. From Renoir to Monet, from Picasso to Sabbagh, a voyage into the secret garden of the artist, punctuated with major works and previously unseen testimonies.

This exhibition takes place on the Tuilleries garden, so if you're looking for an apartment in this area, click here : Paris 1st district apartment rentals.

VOYAGES - VIEW OF THE WORLD BY JAPANESE PHOTOGRAPHERS

MAISON DE LA CULTURE DU JAPON À PARIS - FROM 14th OCTOBER 2009 TO 23th JANUARY 2010

Kôji Onaka, Toshiya Momose, Naoki Ishikawa, Takeshi Dodo, Sayuri Naitô, Hiraki Sawa. There are six of them, they are Japonese, and their view of the world is multi-faceted, just like their conception of travel. From the singularity of the Japanese archipelago or an insider's take on Lison; from Mount Fuji as you have never seen it before to a strangely empty urban India... These photographers transport visitors to real yet sometimes endangered worlds, but also alright to the heart of imaginary lands. They present a panorama between past and present, between realism and fantasy.
